JOB SUMMARY:
Provides software and network support, training and troubleshooting in a network microcomputer environment. Provides support on a wide range of applications including outlook and visions as well as overall technical assistance.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Educates employees on general computer skills
- Works on training and process implementation of new IS directives
- Works on projects as assigned by director of Finance & IS
- Facilitates full reach of IS potential with YSC staff
- Works under direct supervision of the IT Manager
- Works closely with all other positions in the business office.
- Attends all the Surgery Center’s meetings and educational opportunities.
- Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
- Responds to user requests for service and determines nature and extent of support needed.
- Installs, configures, maintains and troubleshoots a wide range of software used throughout the surgery center. Include but not limited to some system analysis, support of computer programs related to machine operating systems, and some network computer design.
- Performs hardware/software upgrades to existing computer equipment as needed.
- Contacts software vendors to obtain specifications, pricing, and other purchase related information needed to guide departments in their selections of software.
- Performs other related duties as required to accomplish the objectives of the position.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2 years College in Information Technology Field – AA/AS degree or BA/BS degree in computer science or related discipline preferred
- Exceptional PC skills.
- Knowledge of networking infrastructure.
- Keyboard skills of 50 wpm minimum.
- Ability to operate computers, various software packages (particularly Microsoft Office and Windows). Ability to operate equipment such as copy machine, fax machine and other common office equipment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of organization. Demonstrates good interpersonal communications skills. Must be able to speak and understand English as well as written communication.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to study, learn & apply new computer programs o practical use
- Genuine curiosity for learning new software programs.
- Interest in teaching others PC skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills in order to facilitate effective interaction with a variety of health care professionals and personnel.
- Ability to work independently and to organize and to prioritize work efficiently to achieve the Center’s goals.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with a minimum of supervision and to organize work in order of importance.
- Must have a strong desire or drive to learn about IT and to implement new solutions.

- Normal hospital environment with exposure to chemical odors, cleaning solvents, and other hazardous materials.
- Exposure to possible injury when working with electrical equipment and lasers which requires care and following proper safety procedures.
