David Ekman

Dr. Ekman was raised in the Seattle Washington area. He attended and received his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Brigham Young University-Idaho. He attended podiatry medical school at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. While there he took part in many seminars and worked as a tutor for multiple courses.

He attended and completed a three year surgical residency program at the St. Joseph Medical Center in Houston, Texas. While in Texas, he was chief resident which gave him the opportunity to instruct junior residents in foot and ankle surgeries. Dr. Ekman has trained in a broad range of foot and ankle conditions, working with some of the most respected podiatric and orthopedic surgeons in the Houston area. While in residency he completed well over 1,000 foot and ankle procedures, including forefoot/rearfoot surgery, diabetic limb salvage, and trauma. Through his residency rotations Dr. Ekman worked in cooperation with different specialties to treat surgical and medical conditions body wide.

His wife and he have four children. With his family he enjoys outdoor activities and traveling. Dr. Ekman is committed to providing excellence in podiatric medical and surgical care to our patients. He is available for appointments and for emergent care.

  Visitor Restrictions

18 years and older
Due to COVID-19, Yellowstone Surgery Center is currently allowing only one visitor per patient to stay in the building.

Younger than 18
A parent or legal guardian must stay in the building at all times. Yellowstone Surgery Center prefers one, however, we will allow for two.

Masks
If you have a mask, please wear it during your time at Yellowstone Surgery Center. If you do not have a mask, Yellowstone Surgery Center will provide one.

Testing
A COVID-19 test will be required prior to elective surgery and pain procedures. This will be arranged through your Surgeons office.
