About Yellowstone Surgery Center

History
Founded in 2002, Yellowstone Surgery Center is located in the Downtown Billings, MT Medical Corridor. YSC is owned and operated jointly by 50 independent physicians and Intermountain Health. It offers patients the opportunity to undergo outpatient surgical procedures and pain services in a warm and friendly environment.
In 2005, the 23-Hour Overnight Stay Program was added with great success. Two years later, 6,000 square feet was added to the downtown location, expanding the facility to 23,000 square feet. In January of 2017, Yellowstone Surgery Center opened the doors to their West End location as a collaborative effort between Yellowstone Surgery Center, Ortho Montana, and Intermountain Health. At 9,000 square feet, the West location specializes in total joint replacements. In 2023, YSC was instrumental in lobbying for the continued coverage of total shoulder replacements in the ASC environment.
Yellowstone Surgery Center is fortunate to utilize state-of-the-art equipment and have a multi-specialty surgical staff.

If individual circumstances require it, Yellowstone Surgery Center is able to transfer patients to inpatient care at Intermountain Health Hospital.
If you are a friend or family member accompanying someone to Yellowstone Surgery Center, every effort is made to make your experience here a good one as well. There is a comfortable waiting area available. The staff will stay in contact with you on the status of the procedure and will encourage you wait with the patient during recovery.
