Preparing for Your Procedure

At the Pain Management Clinic, we utilize the latest medical procedures and techniques to aid in the treatment and management of acute and chronic pain. For your safety, and to optimize your experience, please carefully read and follow the information below:

Preparing for Your Procedure

Do not have anything to eat 6 hours prior to your procedure. This includes food, candy, mints, gum, chewing tobacco, etc.

Do not drink anything 4 hours prior to your procedure, including water, juice, milk, coffee, soda, etc.

You must arrange for a responsible adult to accompany you home after your procedure. You cannot drive for approximately 6 hours after your procedure.

If you develop a cold, cough, fever or other health problems, notify the Yellowstone Surgery Center and your primary care physician prior to the procedure.

  • 6 HOURS prior to procedure: Nothing to EAT.
    This includes food, candy, mints, gum, chewing tobacco, etc.
  • 4 HOURS prior to procedure: Nothing to DRINK.
    This includes water, juice, milk, coffee, soda, etc.
  • Do you have a driver?
    You must arrange for a responsible adult, over the age of 18, to accompany you home after your procedure. You cannot drive for approximately 6 hours after your procedure.
  • Cold, Cough, Fever?
    If you develop a cold, cough, fever or other health problems, notify Yellowstone Surgery Center and your primary care physician prior to the procedure. If someone is accompanying you to the center (family, child, spouse), they should be without a cold, persistent cough, fever or infection for the safety of our other patients and families.
  • Strongly Recommend:
    We strongly recommend that jewelry, weapons and other valuable are left at home.

Additional Information

  • Please bring your insurance card(s) and a photo I.D. with you to your procedure.
  • Co-payments and/or deductible payments may be required. Credit card, check and cash payments are accepted.
  • To reduce financial worries during your recovery time, please contact your insurance company to verify your current benefits and if Yellowstone Surgery Center is considered In-Network.
  • For an estimated charge for your procedure, your obligations and payment options, or any other additional questions, contact Yellowstone Surgery Center to speak with a Patient Representative at (406) 237-5977 prior to your procedure.
  • You will receive two bills, one from the surgery center and one from the treating physician.
